  • Senate likely to vote next week on Health Care Bill

The Senate is likely to vote next week on new legislation to repeal and replace parts of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The bill sponsors are attempting to close in on the needed 50 votes for passage before Sept. 30.

The legislation will likely leave millions of Americans without insurance, negatively affecting hospitals’ ability to provide patient care. Expanded access to insurance has meant more patients can afford the care they consume, thus limiting bad debt hospitals had to absorb for treating patients who could not afford care.

Please urge your senators to protect health coverage and oppose the Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson bill. We will continue to urge senators to work in a bipartisan manner to address the challenges facing our health care system.
